Walls

Walls

There are no more walls

Everything is free,

Spilled out on the street

Strangers stand in wonderment,

Staring at the cement

Wondering where the walls went

They ran west for the spring

The walls did, if you were wondering

Walls can move, you know.

They get up, and then they go.

They bring nothing with but mortar

And their thick, musty odor.

Stand with me a minute,

And watch these walls move

It’ll only be a minute,

You don’t need to stew
