Plus One

Plus One

There once was a boy who died,

Who made a mistake or two.

The final judgement was hell.

Didn’t sit well.

So he fell back to earth,

and fell helplessly, tragically in love.

She wasn’t all that fair,

But he really didn’t care.

There once was a girl who lived,

who danced her life away.

She fell hopelessly in love with the boy,

The first to not treat her like a toy.

One plus one always equated to two.

But two soon turned to five as children

Entered the equation.

Oh, they were happy.

Married, parents to a beautiful three.

One minus one. Goodbye lovely one.

-M.L. Wright

This is another poem that is set specifically on a story. Spoiler alert, she dies at the end.
